Lally Removal Process
Feasibility and Estimate
At your request, our structural engineer will visit your home for a free initial consultation and to make an assessment of the feasibility of the removal of your Lally column(s). This removal process requires careful and precise inspection of the of conditions that apply to your specific home or structure. This inspection leads to the determination of the required structural reinforcement needed to safely remove your lally column or basement post. Our field team and structural engineers will take measurements and provide you with the immediate feedback you need to know on what can be accomplished, as well as a corresponding cost estimate – all within the first visit.
Lally Removal Process
Design and Permits
If your we can safely remove your lally column and you decide to move forward, we immediately move into the design phase of liberating your space! Our design & permit process consists of several steps:

Selecting the type of structural material

Calculating the the size of material to safely support your home

Designing blueprints and details to be inspected, signed, and sealed by a structural engineer.

Our structural engineer then submits the designs and plans to be approved by your town building and zoning department for a permit.
Please Note *In order to begin the design and permit process, a 50% deposit check and signed agreement is required.
Lally Removal Process
Installation
Upon filing of your town permit (1-2 weeks after receipt of project deposit) our crew will come to your home and complete remove and dispose of that cumbersome and annoying lally column, and complete the installation of your new space liberating structural support. This process takes anywhere from one to two days depending on the field conditions and the scope of the project. It is required that someone be present at your home the morning of the start of your project in order to review the process with our team leader and answer any questions. In addition, someone needs to be present at the end of the project in order to sign-off on the completion and make the final payment.
